* Institutional TOEFL is an official TOEFL held/graded by Educational Testing Service. The score can be used in SIIT for graduation but not for applying to other graduate schools. Testing Fee is approximately 1,000 Baht. The tests are arranged for SIIT students every month. Announcement for test schedule will be made in advance and interested students should sign up at the ETU office.

In order to prepare students for this requirement, the English Training Unit (ETU) has arranged for an Unofficial TOEFL test for students to evaluate their potential. Taking the test is free of charge. The test will be held every semester about 2-3 weeks after the midterm exam. The score can be used to decide if you should apply for the official English proficiency test.

Every student must have at least one English proficiency score by the end of his/her first semester of the second year (Semester 3) and third year (Semester 5). Students without an English proficiency score will not be allowed to register for any courses until they have submitted at least one score. To improve your English skills, practice using English in your daily life. Speak, read, write and listen in English whenever you have a chance. Take TOEFL exams regularly to track your progress.

Remark:
1. Students can submit TU GET scores in person to the Academic Services and Registration Division. However, other English proficiency scores must be submitted directly to SIIT.

Announcement CPA Thailand
** New Test Reservation Policies for local test takers **
Effective July 1, 2013 the Center for Professional Assessment (Thailand) will implement a new policy requiring at least seven calendar days between all TOEIC or other test dates for tests offered through our test centers in Thailand.

Local test takers will no longer be allowed to reserve test dates, or "walk-In," for testing services unless the new test date is at least seven days beyond the date of the previous test.

CPA Thailand apologize if this causes any inconvenience for any test taker.

In order to promote the use of English at SIIT, the English Quality Assurance Committee (EQAC) was formed to make recommendations to the Executive Committee on two issues:

1. English proficiency assessment test for the graduation requirement.

2. Procedures and activities to improve the English abilities of SIIT students so that they can meet the graduation requirement.

In addition to these primary functions, the EQAC also organizes or assists in organizing campus activities to encourage the use of English, promotes the campuswide use of English as an international language, consults with programs on appropriate content for SIIT English courses, and conducts training courses for nonteaching staff.
